Porpoise Place is the perfect site for your corporate retreat, wedding, family reunion, celebration or vacation!

Porpoise Place is a collection of upscale vacation homes located in Cape Porpoise, a quiet, coastal village in Kennebunkport, Maine. Each of the homes offer upscale amenities with private drives, outdoor living spaces and spacious interiors.

Chickadee Cottage and Lupine Lodge sit on over 1.5 wooded acres set far back from Langsford Road with "forever wild" land behind them. Seated on 2/3 acres of land, Hydrangea House is located just a five-minute walk away. Together, the houses can sleep 55 comfortably in 21 spacious rooms. Whether you choose to rent one home or all three, you'll love your stay in Cape Porpoise!

Events as Porpoise Place

If you are planning an event in Kennebunkport, Maine, Porpoise Place is a great place to host your event or to house your guests. When rented together, Chickadee Cottage and Lupine Lodge allow for an outdoor tent to host as many as 125 people for your private event.

If you plan to host your event at Porpoise Place, you must rent both Chickadee Cottage and Lupine Lodge. If you need additional space, you may also rent Hydrangea House to accommodate an additional 15 overnight guests. Each home has ample parking and additional parking can be secured on Langsford Road if needed. When planning an event at Porpoise Place, we are happy to work with you to ensure your event goes smoothly.

All three homes are close to a variety of churches, halls, inns and other amenities that have hosted countless weddings, family reunions and corporate parties. Please see our resources page for tent and equipment rental, catering, venue and photographer suggestions.

There is an an additional $1000 event fee when hosting an event at Porpoise Place.

Beyond Cape Porpoise

Kennebunkport, Maine is the home of many great restaurants, shops and other attractions. The local trolley service connects various points of interest and makes for a great sightseeing adventure connecting you to the various resorts, gorgeous beaches and attractions like Walker's Point, the summer home of Presidents George HW Bush and George W Bush, the Seashore Trolley Museum, sailing cruises aboard the Schooner Eleanor, kayaking, hiking and boating.

There are many restaurant options located in and around Kennebunkport including Hurricane's, Alisson's, Federal Jacks (the birthplace of Shipyard Brewing), Ryan's Irish Pub, Cape Arundel Wharf, The Village Tavern, Academe at the Kennebunk Inn, Earth at Hidden Pond and David's KPT among many others. Many of these require reservations, so be sure to call ahead.

Should you encounter a rainy day, there are many wonderful nearby destinations including:

  • Outlet shopping in Freeport, Maine, home to the LL Bean Flagship Store (45 minutes north)
  • Outlet shopping in Kittery, Maine (45 minutes south)
  • A visit to Portland, Maine, one of the country's top foodie destinations (30 minutes north)
  • Easy access to adorable other seaside towns like Ogunquit, Maine and York, Maine (20 minutes south)
