Porpoise Place consists of three newly constructed, upscale rental homes in the heart of the fishing village of Cape Porpoise, Maine: Chickadee Cottage, Lupine Lodge and Hydrangea House.

Where are the homes located?

The homes are located in Cape Porpoise, a small coastal village in the town of Kennebunkport, Maine. Chickadee Cottage and Lupine Lodge are situated on over 1.5 wooded acres off of Langsford Road, while Hydrangea House is just a short, five minute walk away on Mills Road.

Can I rent just one of the rental homes?

Of course! Together, all three homes can comfortably sleep 55 people in 21 bedrooms, but you may reserve one, two or all three houses. NoteIf you plan on hosting an event, you must rent Chickadee Cottage and Lupine Lodge together to take advantage of the shared outdoor space. What are the homes like?

When at the homes you will enjoy fully equipped new kitchens, large impeccably furnished great rooms with vaulted ceilings, comfortable bedrooms with carefully chosen furnishings and linens, a total of 4 screened porches and 2 decks, weber direct feed gas grills, wood burning fire pits and plenty of lawn games like bocce, croquet, ring toss, etc. 

What should we bring?

We tried to anticipate all of your needs: We provide beach toys, towels, blankets, chairs, umbrellas, coolers along with a collapsible large wheeled Tommy Bahama beach cart to haul it all across the sand!

What's nearby?

Porpoise Place is located in the heart of Cape Porpoise and near some of the most popular Kennebunkport restaurants including The WayfarerNunan's Lobster Hut (Just across the street from Hydrangea House), and The Captain's Restaurant.

Bradbury Market is a great place to pick personal items you may have forgotten, groceries to make breakfast, lunch or dinner in your home's full kitchen, or beer, wine and liquor. Also nearby are Cape Porpoise Kitchen offering take out and catering and Langsford Road Lobster and Fish.

Take one of the prettiest walks you might take in your lifetime to visit The Ramp, Pier 77 and Cape Porpoise Chowder House. In less than half mile, you can gaze at Goat Island Light House, see a real fishing/lobstering pier in action and enjoy one of these fabulous restaurants.

Is there parking?

Porpoise Place and Lupine Lodge have plenty of parking on the the private road that leads to the houses from Langsford Road. If you plan on hosting event, you can coordinate with the Kennebunkport Police Department to allow for additional parking on Langsford Road.

Hydrangea House features a two car garage with additional driveway parking for four cars.

Can I bring my dog?

Chickadee Cottage and Hydrangea House are both dog friendly with owner approval. Each has a large fenced area for your pooch (or children). To keep allergens down, dogs are not allowed in Lupine Lodge.

Can we host an event?

Yes! Chickadee Cottage and Lupine Lodge are perfect for hosting your event. The houses are situated far from the road and far enough from each other to accommodate a tent for 100-125 seated guests. Learn more about events at Porpoise Place here.
